Funds raised at the Presidential Ball

President and Founder of Down Syndrome Albania Foundation, Emanuela Zaimi, makes public the funds raised at the Presidential Ball organized at the end of last year, as well as wishes to thank all the businesses and individuals who contributed.
On December 18th, 2015, at the Presidential Ball in Albania, organized by the Institution of the President of the Republic of Albania at the Presidential Palace (also known as Palace of Brigades), the business representatives and dignitaries that were invited, were informed and made aware about the cause of children and adults with Down syndrome. On February 2nd, 2016, the Down Syndrome Albania Foundation account received the last contribution from the Presidential Ball. The total amount collected from the Ball is 2,666,850 Lekë and 23.284 Euro.

From the Presidential Ball, the DSA Foundation received two more monthly donors on a 1 year contract. They are: Trimed sh.p.k. and Agikons sh.p.k., whose donations by the end of 2016 will be 900,000 lekë. The total contribution from the Presidential Ball, including these new monthly donors and calculated in euro, is 48.761. From the support we received at the Presidential Ball and our regular monthly donors, Intercom Data Service, Hako sh.p.k., Selcom and the funds from the Good Affairs Board of the National Lottery for the project “Support me, help me develop and lead an independent and inclusive life” the DSA Foundation will be able to provide during the year 2016, free therapeutic services for children with Down syndrome at our Performance and Development Center as well as follow up periodically children with Down syndrome who live out of Tirana.
Founder and director of the DSA Foundation, Mrs. Emanuela Zaimi (who herself is the parent of a 5 year old boy with Down syndrome), on behalf of the Board of Directors at DSA, other parents and the staff of DSA, wishes to express her gratitude and thank wholeheartedly the President of the Republic, SH.T.Z. Bujar Nishani and the First Lady Odeta Nishani, for their support and initiative, as well as every business and individual who gave valuable contribution on this ball. Down Syndrome Albania Foundation (DSA) was founded in 2013. Its service center for children with Down syndrome, the Performance and Development Center was set up thanks to financial and material contributions by Raiffeisen Bank, Telekom Albania, T.I.K.A. (Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency), American Hospital, Neptun, Univers Advertising and Pas + P Marketing. Down Syndrome Albania Foundation is a member of EDSA (European Down Syndrome Association) and DSI (Down Syndrome International).
